Broadcaster Questions

  • A modern web browser (see web browser requirements, under General Questions)
  • Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), or equivalent.
  • Broadband internet connection with upload speed of at least 3 megabit per second. Choosing a higher quality stream in your broadcaster software settings will increase the required upload speed.
The vast majority of USB cameras will work with Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), including integrated cameras in laptops or monitors. IP-based network cameras (Such as Axis and other manufacturers) are also supported via OBS.
If you are Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) or similar, you may use as many webcams and overlays as your internet connection and computer setup allow.

My EarthCam Page and Settings

Yes. You can enable a PayPal donation button on the camera settings page.
When you mouse over the video player on your My EarthCam page, a bar will pop up from the bottom; in the middle of this bar is a camera icon. Click the camera icon to take a photo of what you are viewing to share with the rest of the My EarthCam community, as well as save it to your computer and post on social media.
On My EarthCam Pages, you may only post to your own Hall of Fame. Pictures you take from other cameras will only show up on your own page.
Yes, you may mark your page as private and only you will be able to visit the page. This setting is found on the camera settings page.
Yes, you may change your username on the camera settings page.
